Online and offline use
The app is saved in the background while you use it, so you can also open it offline.
Installation
In Chrome, click the install icon in the address bar and select Install. Open the app from its desktop shortcut.
On Android, choose Install app from Chrome's menu. On iPhone or iPad, open the app in Safari and choose Share → Add to Home Screen.
Uninstallation
On your computer, open chrome://apps, right-click the app, and select Uninstall.
On mobile, touch and hold the app icon, then select Uninstall or Delete.
Chrome extension
The Chrome extension includes the application files locally inside Chrome, so the app can open offline. These files do not sync with the website or depend on its online or offline mode. They are updated only when Chrome updates the extension.
Is my session saved when I close the application?
Yes. Luna Crop saves your session in local browser storage so you can continue where you left off when you reopen the application or sidebar.
Your saved session remains available unless you delete the application's data or clear its browser storage.
How do free premium actions work?
Luna Image Editor includes 10 free premium actions every two days. You can see how many actions remain and when they reset in the License key section of Settings.
Your tenth action works normally. The actions become available again at the displayed reset time, while an active license unlocks unlimited usage.
Why does overlay not work when I drop an image into the sidebar?
Open Luna Image Editor settings from the gear icon and enable overlay images.
When overlay images are disabled, the default action is to clear the temporary image after you crop or drop a new image into the sidebar.
Why is background removal slow or crashing?
Luna Image Editor background removal uses local AI. On older computers it may fall back to CPU processing, which can be very slow. On some older systems, the processor or browser may not support the required features, which can lead to messages such as worker crash, SIMD not supported, or similar errors.
Try updating your browser, graphics drivers, and processor drivers. If possible, test on a newer machine or a computer with better GPU support. Background removal runs locally and does not use a cloud service.
Why is upscale very slow?
Luna Image Editor upscale uses local AI. To increase resolution, the AI must infer likely extra image detail and rebuild a larger version of the image, so the process can be especially slow.
Upscaling starts only after you select the specific area you want to make higher resolution. This gives the AI less image data to process. You can still select the whole image and upscale everything.
If you do not have a strong graphics card, avoid relying on upscale in a production workflow. Upscale runs locally, so its speed depends on your computer.
