This Privacy Policy explains how the Luna Image Editor Chrome extension handles user data.
Overview
Luna is a browser extension that helps users crop, resize, convert, remove backgrounds, and upscale images.
Luna does not sell user data, does not use user data for advertising, and does not use user content to train any AI models.
Chrome Web Store Policy
Luna strictly complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your data is only used to provide the features you interact with.
In accordance with these policies:
- Encryption in transit: Any data transmitted to external services is sent over secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Human access restriction: We do not allow humans to read your data unless we have your explicit consent (e.g., for technical support), it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required to comply with applicable laws.
Strictly Local Processing
Luna is designed for complete privacy. All image processing—including background removal, cropping, and upscaling—happens entirely locally on your device within your browser.
Luna does not send your images to any external server, cloud service, or external AI provider.
Data Luna handles
Luna only handles the data necessary to provide its features:
- Images you choose to open, paste, or select for editing.
- Extension settings and preferences.
- License key and license status.
Storage
Luna stores your settings, preferences, and license key locally using browser-provided storage. We do not operate our own sync servers for your data.
If Chrome Sync is enabled in your browser, Chrome may sync extension settings between your devices. Chrome Sync is provided by Google, not by us.
License verification
If you enter a license key, Luna stores it in your browser storage.
To verify your license, Luna sends only the license key to Gumroad. Gumroad processes that request according to its own terms and privacy policy. No images, files, or personal usage data are sent during this process.
Version and notice checks
Luna may contact ceres-assistant.com to check version information, update notices, or product messages. These checks are used to show extension-related notices and do not send any user images or personal data.
Data sharing
Luna shares data only when needed for a feature you choose to use.
This is limited to:
- Sending a license key to Gumroad when you verify a Gumroad license.
- Checking ceres-assistant.com for version information or notices.
We do not share any user data with advertisers.
Analytics
Luna does not include an in-extension analytics system for tracking user activity inside the extension.
Chrome Web Store may provide marketplace-level statistics, such as install counts or store dashboard metrics, according to Google's own policies.
Data deletion
You can delete all locally stored Luna data at any time by:
- Removing your license key inside the extension settings.
- Clearing your browser's extension storage or local storage.
- Uninstalling the Luna Chrome extension.
